about
The agora (αγορά) was the main square in the polis, the Greek city of the classical antiquity era. It was usually a place free of buildings and shaped by the presence of markets and fairs. As an element of constitution of urban space, the agora was a symbol of citizenship and public space in the Greek concept of urbanism: it was in the agora that the Greek citizen would socialise and where the political discussions and popular tribunals would take place.
Inspired by this analogy and with the purpose of revitalising what in times past was the heart of urban life, ÁGORA Propostas Culturais was born. The present-day Ágora presents herself as a dynamic company composed of a team of professionals specialised in the management of cultural tourism projects, heritage interpretation and valorisation, spatial planning, archaeology, museology, new audiovisual technologies and in developing professional education for sector professionals.
Besides that, Ágora promotes and makes known history and cultural heritage by also providing in her online shop a selected set of merchandising materials inspired by figures, monuments and objects which mark our history.
